STACHYBOTRYS - QuickTox™(ELISA Kit)

The EnviroLogix QuickTox Kit For Stachybotrys Sp. Spores Is A Rapid Screening Assay Capable Of Identifying Stachybotrys Mold Contamination.  It Is Designed To Extract And Qualitatively Detect The Presence Of Stachybotrys Spores At Levels Typically Found In Contaminated Environmental Samples, Such As Dry Wall, Ceiling Tiles, And Carpets.  QuickTox Strips Are Capable Of Detecting Less Than 8 x 10⁴  Stachybotrys chartarum Spores/mL.

Spores from suspect mold samples are collected onto a swab and transferred into a vial containing extraction reagent.  The extraction reagent releases the spores from the swab and allows the sample to flow up the QuickTox strip.  Each strip has an absorbent pad at one end and a sample pad at the other end.  The protective tape with the arrow indicates the end of the strip to insert into the reaction tube.  Once the strip is inserted into the reaction tube, the sample will migrate up the membrane strip and be absorbed into the larger absorbent pad at the top of the strip.  The portion of the strip between the protective tape and the absorbent pad at the top of the strip is used to view the reactions as described under “interpreting your results” found in the detailed instruction manual.  Sample containing Stachybotrys spores are captured and detected on a test line 15 mm above the protective tape.  Above the test line is a control line that indicates the test is functioning properly.  If the sample is negative only a single red line will be visible.  If the sample is positive then two red lines will be visible, the test line and the control line.  If no lines appear or if only the test line is red, the test is invalid and must be repeated.
