PCB’S IN SOIL (ELISA Kit)

 Intended Use 

The EnviroLogix PCB In Soil Tube Kit Is Designed For Semi-Quantitative Field Screening For PCB'S In Soil.  The Kit Is Supplied With Calibrators Equivalent To 1 Part Per Million (Ppm) And 10 Ppm PCB (Arochlor 1254) In Soil.  The Assay Range Can Easily Be Extended.

General

 

The EnviroLogix PCB in Soil Tube Kit is a competitive Enzyme-Linked ImmunoSorbent Assay (ELISA).  In the test, PCB in sample extracts compete with enzyme (horseradish peroxidase) labeled PCB for a limited number of antibody binding sites on the inside surface of the test tubes.  After a simple wash step, the outcome of the competition is visualized with a color development step.  As with all competitive immunoassays, sample concentration is inversely proportional to color development.

Darker color = Lower concentration

Lighter color = Higher concentration

The EnviroLogix PCB in Soil Tube Kit can be used in the following applications:

  		• Methanol (10 milliliter (mL) per sample.
  		• Eppendorf Repeater Pipetter 4780 (Eppendorf cat. No. 2226000-6) or equivalent.
  		• 3, 12.5 mL Combi-Syringes (VWR Cat. No. 40000-008) for the Eppendorf Repeater Pipette.
  		• Gilson Microman M25 Positive Displacement Pipette (available from Rainin) or equivalent.
  		• CP-250 Tips (red) for the Gilson Microman (available from Rainin).
  		• Marking Pen (indelible).
  		• Timer (10 minutes).
  		• Cool Tap Or Distilled Water for rinsing tubes.
  		• Photometer for reading tubes.
  		• Test Tube Rack that can hold up to 20 antibody-coated test tubes securely enough to flick out water.
  		• After Wash Step (contact EnviroLogix for information on obtaining an appropriate rack).
